Grey Shading

dress, jacket and necklace: topshop, bracelets: charity shop, casio: american apparel, boots: primark

This is a very un-me outfit, but recently I've developed a liking for longer dresses / skirts. I'm not usually brave enough to wear them but have bought a few longer wardrobe editions recently. I wore this outfit on christmas day; the dress was £29 from Topshop and such a good buy, I really like the fit and it's quite plain so I didn't feel too dressed up wearing it. I have worked a lot of christmas day's so usually end up finishing work and eating my dinner in pj's and a dressing gown so it was nice to dress up a little.

A note on my hair, I know the roots are awful butttttt I've decided that in a few more months it will grow out and I'll have the perfect dip-dyed effect ha. I just have to put up with how ridiculous it looks at the moment! I've finished my essay wahoo. Now onto the dissertation... see you in 15,000 words.

Chicago Bears

jumper: charity shop, dress: topshop, boots: primark

Happy new year, hope you all saw it in in style. I was at motion watching the likes of sub focus and scratch perverts, was so much fun. Although, I've had a horrible two day hangover and haven't achieved an awful lot... that's all changing tomorrow though. I have an essay to write, a dissertation to start and the gym to get back to (christmas bingeee). So I'm spending the next few days in the library with the boyfriend, (who is luckily in the same situation as me) christmas is well and truly overrrr :(

A new year means a new start so I thought I would have a little blog make over and I've gone for bigger pictures and a different header, what do you think?

Have you guys got any new years resolutions? I think mine are to be more proactive with my uni work, what I want to do after uni and of course my blog - it was so much easier to keep on top of when I was working and didn't have a million essays to write!!

Forever Ago

hat: rokit, levis shirt: charity shop, belt: vintage, socks: nans, boots: primark

These photos were taken forever ago (hence the name of the post) on a very windy afternoon on the balcony of my boyfriends fourth floor flat which is why they're not great aha. Wearing my much loved Levis denim shirt and hat from Rokit, it hasn't spent a lot of time off my head since I bought itt.

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas yesterday I ate far too much but didn't drink that much, last year I was asleep by 8pm, I made it past that this year!! I took a few snaps of my outfit so shall post them soon. Off to Bristol to brave the sales tomorrow (and finish my Christmas shopping, oops).

Rose Rock

top: urban outfitters (old), shorts: c/o red rock via Lydia's giveaway, shoes: dixi, necklace: c/o wired jewellery via Vicky's giveaway, belt: primark, hat: rokit

I won these amazing shorts a couple of months ago when Lydia hosted a giveaway for Red Rock Fashion, I wore them on holiday but hadn't worn them since as it's been pretty cold and I thought they were too summery. But last week I paired them with a long sleeved top, tights and bobble hat and wore them into town where I bought this coat from Topshop and am in loveeeee.. Red Rock is one of my favourite up and coming vintage brands, they have the nicest customised items and the photos used on their website and lookbook are AMAZING. Go and check them out if you haven't already!

Black Heart

dress: c/o glamorous, belt: vintage from the dandelion, gloucester, shoes: ebay

How beautiful is this dress from Glamorous? It is 100% my favourite item in my wardrobe- I don't tend to wear dresses that often but I want to wear this ALL the time. The lace detail is really pretty and it has an underskirt which makes the dress puff out a little bit making it more dressy and perfect for me for a more glam look. This dress retails at just £37.99 and don't forget you can enter GLAMOROUS20 at the checkout for 20% off.

Usually when buying dresses for special occasions I have to go to the shop to try before I buy to make sure that it fits and suits my figure; this usually ends up with me spending a fortune on something I could have picked up online for half the price (although with Glamorous I don't have this problem, both this dress and the dress I wore to my ball fitted perfectly!). The other day I was sent this article about how to buy dresses for your body shape and have found it really useful. Although I wouldn't put myself directly into the 'athletic' category I have quite a straight figure and definitely agree that dresses with a tight top and a-line or skater skirt suit my figure best- bodycon definitely isn't for me.

Here's the article, do you think these tips are true for your body shape?

Party Dresses For Every Shape

It's party season and you want a new dress. You want to look the best you can, be the envy of your friends, but you don't know how to do it - sound familiar? Buying party dresses can be a challenge, but knowing your shape and what will suit you can really help navigate the mammoth task.

Pear Shaped

For pear shaped ladies, A-line skirts are definitely a blessing. They skim the hips, making the bottom half appear smaller and also highlighting your waist at the same time. A tighter top will show off your bust by drawing attention to it, creating the look of curves and a strapless dress (or one with narrow spaghetti straps) will accentuate your shoulders, balancing them out with you hips and improving your proportions.

Apple Shaped

Women who are apple shaped will suit a low scooped neckline as this will draw attention to the larger bust. Detailing or folds on the stomach of a dress will make it appear smaller. A wrap dress will also make you appear as if you have a waist, drawing attention to this area while clinching it in at the same time. Dresses with an empire line also flatter as the fabric skims over the stomach.

Petite

Petite women suit a tailored look, with fitted garments creating lines and making you appear taller and more in proportion. It would be better for a petite lady to choose a dress specifically made to petite proportions to ensure that the dress sits right.

Hourglass

You want to wear something that will clinch you in at the waist, highlighting it and showing it off to its full effect as it's your narrowest point. A scooped or v neck will highlight your bust and a dress that skims over your hips will make them appear smaller while still showing off your curvaceous figure too. Detailing around the neck will also draw attention to the bust.

Athletic

Fitted tops and A-line skirts suit an athletic figure, giving the illusion of curves. The dress itself is less important with this figure, whereas accessories are extremely important in adding that desired look of femininity to an outfit.

In the end, it's really down to what you feel most comfortable in that matters but hopefully these pointers will help you to be able to get it right first time so you're not wasting hours and hours trawling around the shops trying on endless dresses which fail to flatter your figure.

Cosmic Sky

top & shoes: new look, skirt: missguided, jacket: topshop

I haven't blogged in what feels like foreverrrrr, I went to Outlook festival in Croatia which was AMAZING, it was a whirlwind of incredible DJs, insane stages, crazy boat parties, far too much drink, sunshine and tropical storms- rain, thunder, lightening... the lot! Since being back I've had an extreme case of festival blues anddddd I haven't had a proper laptop and no longer have photoshop (does any one use anything else to edit the pixel size of their pictures?) I'm using my old laptop at the moment but everything takes so much longer than normal, fingers crossed I'm getting a mac before uni starts again eeeeeee.

Last weekend I went camping in Sidmouth with my mum and sister, we had a really nice chilled weekend charity shopping, reading books, swimming in the sea and stargazing- I saw my first shooting star yayyy. I feel like I need to get back to reality now, uni starts soon and I have LOADS to sort out- started doing my room this week my yellow walls are now 'ivory cream' after 5 hours of painting and I can finally start to unpack my clothes and put them away properly, rather than using the floordrobe like I have been for the past month ha. I'm going to have a really big sort out and probably do a blog sale or eBay lots of the clothes that I never wear, so keep an eye out :)

My lovely intern bought me this skirt as a leaving present alongside the rosine skull stud tee. Best presents ever. I'm a little at a loss of what to do job wise now I've finished placement, although I'm going to be at uni I need a part-time job- don't really know where to begin... ah I've rambled on enough now, going to try and catch up on everyone's blogs asap and get back into a routine of regular blogging!

PS- These pictures were taken on my iPhone so sorry if the quality isn't great!

Krooked Camo

camo jacket: topshop, skirt & headband: h&m, boots: primark, top: vintage - the dandelion, bag: charity shop

Firstly, congratulations to Helen who won my Raspberrygrape giveaway- hope you like your body chain (so jealous); and thank you to every one who entered.

Waah camo jacket, hello. I know you can pick these up for super cheap, (Hayley got hers for £1 from a carboot sale, amazing) but I couldn't wait to find a bargain and bought this from Topshop£43.20 with student discount, I did resist the studded one though, which was identical but an extra £10 for a few studs...
I love the camo trend and although every person and their dogs (...yes dogs) are now wearing it I'm happily jumping on the bandwagon and embracing it fully, camowhore.

I'm in love with this bag, I picked it up at a charity shop in Monmouth over a year ago, it's Russell & Bromley and only cost a few pound! Unfortunately I've used it so much that it's dying now :(
Apparently I went for an extremely classy look here, battered bag, ripped tights and chipped nails... I've let myself go aha.

This is my last post for a while now, I finish my placement tomorrow meaning I'm laptopless until further notice and am off on holiday Monday- Venice and then Croatia for Outlook festival!!!!!!!!
I'm literally too excited for words, Phaeleh on a boat... in Croatia... ahhhhhhhhhhh.
I'll be back soon :)

Wildest Moments

tee: friends, shorts: diy, jacket: charity shop, pendant: dutty, boots: primark

Guilty of wearing these shorts again, when I find something that's been missing for ages I wonder how I ever lived without it... can't take them off now! I'm also wearing my friends tee here which she definitely doesn't know about until now so sorry Carla!! I love oversized tee's and I'm not sure where she got this from but it's perfect to throw on to keep a look casual.

I'm moving out of my house on Saturday which is going to be ridiculously stressful, ahh so much cleaning and packing- I have no idea how I've accumulated so much stuff over the year... I keep putting it off and doing little bits but there's no excuses now- tonight I'm going to blast some Skrillex, pretend I'm back at Global Gathering and cleaannnnn. As soon as my friend puts the pictures up I shall do a festivally post and tell you all about it :)

Talking of festivals, Stephanie from Stephanie Dreams went along to Camp Bestival as a sponsored blogger this weekend, she's taken some lovely pictures it looks like the cutest festival ever- check out her post here.

PS - you have to all go and listen to Jessie Ware - Wildest Moments if you haven't already. Loveeeeee.

The Journey

top: motel, shorts: diy, boots: primark, shirt: charity shop, bracelet: c/o dixi, above knuckle and silver ring: dixi, rose ring: sisters

Wow isn't this weather amazing?! Very different from when I took these pictures last weekend. Honestly feel like I'm in a foreign country right now and it's making me extremely happy- time to change from skin tone 'fluorescent white' to 'extremely pale with freckles'- I do tan eventually (believe it or not) but because I start off such an unnatural colour you can't tell unless I whip my tan lines out aha.

I was told I look very 80's in this outfit, picked up this top from the Motel boutique in Bristol for just £7! Bargain. Motel have lots of retro prints in at the moment I'm such a fan. I've been looking for these shorts for ages, me and my nan made them last year quite easily, just grabbed a pair of leggings from Primark and chopped them off at the right length, bought some lace and stitched it on. I had completely given up of finding them- but, they were hiding under my chest of drawers, yayy.

(Apologies for the empty cans etc in the background- classy)

Summer Ball

dress: c/o glamorous, shoes: guess, jewellery: miss selfridge

Last Thursday was our summer ball at work for all the new and old interns, the night consisted of a lot of free wine, presentations about our year, some of the cringiest awards possible (yes I received one of these!!) and fire dancers for entertainment. I wore my gorgeous dress from Glamorous, I love the cut out sides, how the skirt is different from the top and of course the fish tail... one of the best things was that no one had the same dress as me as I didn't pick it up from the high street. I know I've said it before but I'm so impressed with Glamorous this dress retails at just £38.99, it' still in stock on the site too alongside an amazing sequin design one. I also noticed the other week that they have a section in BS8 in Bristol, so if you feel the need to try before you buy- head there! My jewellery was also a bargain I got all three items for just £7, love the sales.

(don't forget you can enter GLAMOROUS20 for 20% off)

Stained Glass

top & belt: emilys, levis: motel, hi-tops: nike factory store, socks: primark

These pictures are taken in my Bristol house, yes there are stained glass windows all about the place- amazing. I really don't like these pictures though as my legs are out in their true paleness; buttt I had to show you the top my friend Emily made and let me borrow to wear to motion the other night- I don't normally wear pink but this top is definitely the exception. She's been dip dye'ing, tie dying and diy'ing all sorts at the moment and if you want anything like this made for you she's a pro so send me an email and I'll put you in contact with her :)

Cats Eyes

dress: ebay, shoes: newlook, belt: vintage, claw ring: dixi, fish necklace: c/o amy from the little magpie

Bought this dress from ebay over a year ago and found it at the bottom of my wardrobe so I wore it to Emma's 21st the other weekend - a mexican themed night with lots of moustaches, tequila and drunk gringos. The dress has little black cats printed on it with red eyes - creepy. Wore this cute fish necklace with it that Amy sent me as a little surprise when she sent me her leggings (toomuchofababe!!

It's the summer ball tonight, I'm wearing a dress sent to me from Glamorous can't wait to take pictures tonight and show it off! Hope the weather stays dry for it too otherwise I am going to have some seriously patchy fake tan aha, not what any one wants. Work tomorrow is going to be awful, hate hungover Fridays- ah well it should hopefully be worth it!!

Old Blue

jumper: old blue, levis: charity shop, creepers: runway shoes, hare pendant: dutty, tights: primark

Ah stupid lighting is not doing this jumper justice at all, as you can't see clearly it's dip dyed lilac and pink andddddd it's studded. LOVEEEEE; I stumbled across it through the Old Blue tumblr where Lauren is selling a few of these jumpers in all different styles for just £25- it's definitely my favourite item in my wardrobe at the moment!!

Moved into my house in Bristol this weekend, it's amazing- it's got so much character, we found an old safe built into the wall would love to know what was kept in it, oh and I have the biggest room ever!! Yay. Only 4 weeks until I officially move in properly I cannot wait; I've missed living in Bristol so much this year.

PS all of you buying the disco pants dupes from Ark Clothing and Glamorous and the disco shorts from Topshop I am so jealous... money tree pleaseeeeeee!!

Deer Hunter

tee: sobeys vintage at bs8, riding pants: american apparel, creepers: runway shoes, necklace: street princess

Officially the busiest week of my life, my replacement has started which means I've been spending my days training her to do my job- I never realised how much I do! I'm also unofficially moving into my house in Bristol this weekend, the tenancy starts tomorrow so after work on Friday I'm going down to move half of my stuff and obviously get drunk, soo excited- it's Hospitality at Motion and even though I saw most of the DJs at beach break I'm not one to turn down Camo and Krooked... ever.

Some of you may have seen on my instagram (yasminnjade) that I popped into Bristol the other week for a spot of retail therapy where I picked up this tee from BS8. BS8 is my fav shop in Bristol it's on Park Street so it's a bit of a walk but definitely worth it. It's split into different sections for all different brands and combines a mixture of vintage, retro and high street clothing mixed in with some amazing jewellery and quirky household items.

I've been meaning to take pictures of my riding pants for ages- I picked them up in the 40% off all winter lines sale on the American Apparel site so they were cheap as chips and I love them, so glad I went for the green too. Also I bought this necklace from Naheeda's jewellery range so long ago and haven't had a chance to blog about it, it's so cute and really similar to one I had before which my friend borrowed and lost aha, but it's OK as I totally destroyed her HH suspender tights on a night out so we're even!! Check out Naheeda's store- Street Princess for more gorgeous pieces of jewellery.

So Glamorous

shirt: c/o glamorous, boots: topshop, belt: vintage, necklace: primark

Ah the lighting in these pictures is not great- did not see that cheeky bit of sun shining on my head! I wore this outfit to a friends 21st the other weekend, it was a house party which of course got fairly crazy everyone got far too drunk and no one slept till gone 6am... but it was such a good night even if the day after wasn't!!
I received this shirt from Glamorous a few a weeks ago and had been dying to wear it - it was sold out in a size 8 so I bought the 10 which means it's really oversized but I wanted a shirt I could wear as a dress (almost), believe it or not I am wearing shorts under it so I didn't go out too naked. I never usually pick things in this colour as it washes me out but hey it's summer and I'm determined to embrace the pastel trend regardless!! I really love the clothes on the Glamorous site everything is so reasonably priced, their store is continuously getting updated and they have clothes for literally every occasion.
Ohh, I picked up these boots in the Topshop sale in Bristol last weekend when I was indulging in some serious retail therapy to cheer me up; they were down from £60 something to like £40 and are so cute, they have a little chunky heel and are cut out at the sides- I'll take a better picture of them next time to show them off better :)

Only Love

t-shirt: primark (diy), denim jacket: charity shop, leggings: primark (c/o Amy), creepers: runway shoes brooch: vintage, casio: asos

Oh hey weird orb light on my head and hello I'm wearing patterned leggings again, I'm obsessed! A while back I was banging on about how I really wanted some snakeskin leggings and the AMAZING Amy from The Little Magpie said she had a pair she no longer wanted and sent them to me!! She's such a babe, the leggings came with a couple of bits of jewellery and such a lovely note :) Amy I cannot thank you enough, I love them... thank you thank you thank you!!

I had such an amazing weekend at Beach Break (I might put some snaps up depending on the quality) and although there were severe weather warnings it did clear up for the evenings and Sunday was so hot I got burnt! Highlights had to be Dizzee Rascal (surprisingly), Delilah, Ben Howard and of course Camo & Krooked. I'm so excited for Global Gathering now- I have festival fever. However I am absolutely exhausted and have lost my voice aha, bed time.

American Boy

blouse: missguided, leggings: lavish alice, creepers: runway shoes, bracelet: c/o dixi, pendant: charity shop

Firstly these leggings are the most extravagant item of clothing I own, I bought them from Lavish Alice a while back for just £12 but have been far too scared to wear them aha. I think you need to be careful what you wear on the the top half when wearing statement leggings especially those as 'out there' as these, and I didn't have anything to go with them. But then I found this blouse from Missguided and thought it would be perfect, I'd been looking for a black blouse for so long as they're so versatile and had't been able to find one so was really happy when I found this. Also you may have noticed I bought creepers!!! (only cheap ones as I cannot be trusted with any form of footwear) and I love love love them, I lived in them all weekend and now have ridiculous blisters :( but totally worth it.

Anyway, I wore this on Friday night where I went to see Scratch Perverts with Chloe & Katharine (pop over to Katharine's blog to see a picture of all three of us on the night!!) which was soo much fun and ended up with me rolling in at 5am with lots of chicken (classy) after the after party. Although I was ridiculously hungover the next day I refused to stay in bed and went into London to this comedy club night which was actually really funny, I then met my friends who were doing a monopoly bar crawl and one thing led to another... and that thing led to Fabric. So I spent Sunday very hungover too aha.

Red, White & Blue

denim jacket & dress: charity shop, shoes: new look, rings: dixi, pendant: peaches and nothing

This is as patriotic I got for the Jubilee this weekend I am afraid; bought this dress from a charity shop and it came down to my ankles so I snipped off the bottom and wore this to my friends surprise 21st in Cheltenham. I went out riding with my cousin on the Saturday extremely hungover and then drove to Bristol ready for Love Saves The Day. Although it absolutely poured I had the best day raving in the rain to the likes of Joker and Joy Orbison, it really got me excited for the festivals I have coming up this summer- can't believe beach break is only 8 days away!!

Tuesday I spent the day in Bath and got treated to lunch at Browns which was amazing, then yesterday I went to Thorpe Park (it stayed dry hurrah!!) which was just too good! It's been years since I've gone there and I absolutely loved 'stealth' the ride that goes from 0-80mph in less than 2 minutes straight up and then drops- couldn't get enough!! Finally I topped off my lovely super long weekend with a Wagamamas last night; work was horrible today think I'm getting ill uh oh- off to see Scratch Perverts with Chloe and Katharine tomorrow, I need to feel better quickkkkkk.

I'm entering this into Style Eyes Ethical Outfit Competition; the prizes up for grabs are amazing. My jacket and dress are both from charity shops andddd I'm wearing my nans socks, that counts as vintage right? Aha.

PS- watched The Other Boleyn Girl this weekend and loved it, if you haven't already... watch it!

An Eye For An Eye

I have an exciting post for you all today, I finally get to introduce you to An Eye For An Eye Clothing. A while back my nan introduced me to her cousins son who was starting up his own brand and asked if I'd help out. I nabbed a couple of the tees (which I absolutely love, tie dye and a quirky print- win) to photograph a while back and I've been itching to show you, but had to wait until the website was up and running etc.

The brand has a range of items, from tie dye tees to sweats and varsity jackets all at reasonable prices too- you can pick up one of these tees for just £15. At the moment they're just selling guys clothes (but when has that ever stopped us girls? aha) but they are bringing out a girls range in the near future so keep your eyes peeled. As well as the website you can buy An Eye For An Eye clothes at the Dandelion in Gloucester and as from this weekend an Eye For An Eye will have their very own stall at St Nicholas market in Bristol every Saturday from 9.30-5. I'm not sure I can make it this weekend but I'll definitely be helping out at the stall in the future so pop by and say hello if you're in the area :) oh go ahead and like them on Facebook for updates too!

Lock and Key

skirt: yayer, tee: diy primark, shoes: new look, friendship bracelet: c/o raspberry grape, claw ring: dixi, nails: models own fluro' orange

I'm finally starting to wear some of the clothe's I've DIYed over the last couple of months, I went on a bit of a spending and making spree and then had all these new clothes and realised I hadn't worn any of them. One of my creations was this tee from primark, it's a large mens one and I just added some bronze studs around the collar to spice it up a little. I love wearing really simple things on nights out especially when I'm wearing a skirt this bright aha.

You might be wondering about my necklace, I went to a 'let the lock... see the key' themed night out the other week; the girls got a padlock on a chain and the guys had a key. The idea was to find the key which fit your lock- take that as you will ;) I didn't find my match buttt it does mean that I now have a new necklace... not sure how socially acceptable it is to wear it though?!
