Forever Ago

hat: rokit, levis shirt: charity shop, belt: vintage, socks: nans, boots: primark

These photos were taken forever ago (hence the name of the post) on a very windy afternoon on the balcony of my boyfriends fourth floor flat which is why they're not great aha. Wearing my much loved Levis denim shirt and hat from Rokit, it hasn't spent a lot of time off my head since I bought itt.

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas yesterday I ate far too much but didn't drink that much, last year I was asleep by 8pm, I made it past that this year!! I took a few snaps of my outfit so shall post them soon. Off to Bristol to brave the sales tomorrow (and finish my Christmas shopping, oops).

Celestial Kingdom

iPhone cover c/o Iconemesis

Iconemesis are a company who work in collaboration with artists in the UK to create unique and funky iPhone cases. They contacted me and kindly offered me a case of my choice, it was really difficult to decide as they have some lovely designs but I finally decided on the Celestial Kingdom design. A couple of my other favourites are the Anastasia design and Black FloralI absolutely love my new case, my old one was falling apart and I was really bored of it, so thank you Iconemesis :)

At the moment they are offering 20% their iPhone cases with code ICON220 so if you need to buy a late Christmas present for a friend or fancy treating yourself head on over and check out their designs.

Firmoo Glasses

glasses c/o Firmoo

Over the last year my eyesight has got loads worse and I've started to wear my glasses on a daily basis. They are a really cheap pair from Tesco which I love but I've had for years so its only a matter of time before they break :(

So, when Firmoo contacted me to try a pair of their glasses I was really excited to get involved. Firmoo are an online store selling both prescription and non-prescription glasses. The site is really simple to use and they have such a wide variety of frames at such good value.

I was a little apprehensive about choosing my frames online as I'm really fussy with glasses; but Firmoo have this virtual try-on system where you can upload a picture of your face and 'try' the glasses on so you can tell which suit your face more. This was really helpful as a few of the frames I originally picked really didn't suit me! Filling in your prescription details is surprisingly really simple too.

When ordering my glasses I accidentally ordered my glasses incorrectly- the Firmoo team were really helpful in solving my problem and ensuring my order was correct. I was really impressed with the quality of my glasses when they arrived (especially in comparison to my cheap frames) and delivery was really quick. I chose these frames in tortoise shell, you can't really see the colour in this photo but you can see it in the light- I did think they might be lighter than they are but as they are darker I think they look more sophisticated.

Overall I am really happy with the service I got from Firmoo and the product I received. I would definitely recommend them.

Now onto the good news for you guys, Firmoo have introduced the First Pair Free Program- offering new customers their first pair of glasses for free!! (You just have to pay for postage which works out at around £10) To bag your free pair follow this link.

It feels like these photo's were taken ages ago, it has been a few weeks but because of doing essays ever since I feel like it's been months! That's why I haven't been blogging much, I have things to post and will do now and then but my work is taking over my life at the moment and will be for the foreseeable future.

I'm wearing nothing new in this post, I haven't bought any clothes really all term but am still so skint! :( my roots are horrendous too, where's that money tree?! Wore this outfit for a friends birthday in Nottingham, we went to Rock City. Haven't listened to rocky sort of music out for a long time so was pretty fun!

Buying For The Boy

Guys are the hardest people to buy presents for, ever. FACT. I'm always stressing about what to buy them, whether it's a boyfriend, a friend, brother or my Dad! This article suggests a few present ideas to spoil your boy this Christmas:

(I was going to incorporate it with a few of my own ideas but since I got my new mac I'm having trouble downloading the picture editing software I normally use)

Knowing what gifts will be an instant hit with boyfriends has long been a puzzling mystery. Whilst women will usually be very vocal when it comes to suggesting gift ideas (or at least skilled at dropping heavy hints into everyday conversation), men tend to keep their cards far closer to their chest – much to the despair of girlfriends and wives everywhere, who struggle to work out what to buy their hubbies for Christmas, birthdays and anniversaries.

Of course, there are always the tried and tested options of aftershave, chocolate, socks or soap, but frankly these can feel a little bit boring. The trick is to look for fun alternatives that will appeal to the boy inside who never really grew up. As a general rule, men can be relied upon to enjoy fiddling with gadgets, so why not opt for a technological gift?

Tablet computers have become this year’s must-have gadget, and rumours suggest that Apple will be bringing out an iPad mini in the not-so-distant future - a lighter and cheaper version of the latest iPad. If the hype is to be believed, this will be a hugely popular piece of kit, likely to make handheld tablet devices more affordable to the mass market.

After making a big splash in the US, Amazon’s Kindle Fire 2 is also soon to be launched in the UK and will go into direct competition with the Google Nexus 7. With so many tablets newly launching in the UK this year, it looks as though you might be spoilt for choice – and this is one gift that your significant other is sure to love, whether they’ll use their tablet for playing games, reading the latest bestsellers or even simply browsing the web.

If you’re planning on hitting the shops in search of the perfect gift for your boyfriend, make your money go further with rewards cards from American Express UK. With an American Express rewards card, you can earn membership reward points on virtually every purchase you make, which can be redeemed in exchange for a fantastic range of exclusive rewards, including experience days and flights.

Spook Boutique

This halloween I went to a haunted lodge party hosted by Shapes and Native Tongue, where the location was kept at a secret until the night and we had to do a haunted ghost walk through a graveyard to get there. There was a strict fancy dress code so we decided to go as creepy dolls. We followed this great make up tutorial to get the doll type face and after a practice it ended up pretty easy to do. Although trying to cover up eyebrows is a nightmare, we used so much pritt stick and our heads felt tight and crispy for the whole night! In terms of the outfit we just picked up some socks and leotards from Primark and the tutu's came from this eBay seller, we added some ribbon and it turned out to be a fairly cheap halloween outfit. What did you do for halloween this year?

At the moment I'm loving sparkles; I'm instantly drawn to anything with sequins, beads or glitter. As you can see my wishlist reflects this completely, I never usually like anything 'girly' but I feel I'm a changed person since this glitter craze, I genuinely got excited the other day when I saw a sequin blazer in Primark! I'm becoming ridiculous aha.

Rose Rock

top: urban outfitters (old), shorts: c/o red rock via Lydia's giveaway, shoes: dixi, necklace: c/o wired jewellery via Vicky's giveaway, belt: primark, hat: rokit

I won these amazing shorts a couple of months ago when Lydia hosted a giveaway for Red Rock Fashion, I wore them on holiday but hadn't worn them since as it's been pretty cold and I thought they were too summery. But last week I paired them with a long sleeved top, tights and bobble hat and wore them into town where I bought this coat from Topshop and am in loveeeee.. Red Rock is one of my favourite up and coming vintage brands, they have the nicest customised items and the photos used on their website and lookbook are AMAZING. Go and check them out if you haven't already!

Tassled Up

tee & levis: camden market, belt: vintage, boots: primark

I got a Glastonbury ticket WOOOOO. So happy, can't believe they sold out in 1 hour and 40 minutes this year it's crazy.

Oh hey I'm fake tanned... wore this outfit to Brisfest a couple of weekends ago, (where I was meant to meet Chloe but we were both so drunk we kept missing each other aha- making up for it this week with a spot of window shopping though) the sun was shining and besides getting kicked out of the hat shop and having to try and put tights on in the middle of a field it was the best weekend and the perfect end to the summer.

My outfit it is so summery which is sad as it's starting to get so cold! I don't usually wear pink but when I saw these shorts I fell in love, I'm a strong believer on never having enough levis- I think I have 6 pairs now which I promise is not excessive at all...

I've also wanted to own a top with tassles on for such a long time, I 'tassled' one of my tops a while back but it looks awful with everything I own. I found this in a stall in camden for £12, however I'm wearing it inside out as the other side has a skull on it which I'm not a fan of! I went into COW vintage last weekend and they have the best selection of tassle'd tees, including plaited ones which I hadn't seen before. As I'm on a spending ban (due to the extravagant month I have ahead- Amsterdam YAY) I'm planning to DIY a few tees I already own, there are going to be too many tassles in my wardrobe. Wow I've said tassles a lot in this post... it's starting to sound like a made up word.

Black Heart

dress: c/o glamorous, belt: vintage from the dandelion, gloucester, shoes: ebay

How beautiful is this dress from Glamorous? It is 100% my favourite item in my wardrobe- I don't tend to wear dresses that often but I want to wear this ALL the time. The lace detail is really pretty and it has an underskirt which makes the dress puff out a little bit making it more dressy and perfect for me for a more glam look. This dress retails at just £37.99 and don't forget you can enter GLAMOROUS20 at the checkout for 20% off.

Usually when buying dresses for special occasions I have to go to the shop to try before I buy to make sure that it fits and suits my figure; this usually ends up with me spending a fortune on something I could have picked up online for half the price (although with Glamorous I don't have this problem, both this dress and the dress I wore to my ball fitted perfectly!). The other day I was sent this article about how to buy dresses for your body shape and have found it really useful. Although I wouldn't put myself directly into the 'athletic' category I have quite a straight figure and definitely agree that dresses with a tight top and a-line or skater skirt suit my figure best- bodycon definitely isn't for me.

Here's the article, do you think these tips are true for your body shape?

Party Dresses For Every Shape

It's party season and you want a new dress. You want to look the best you can, be the envy of your friends, but you don't know how to do it - sound familiar? Buying party dresses can be a challenge, but knowing your shape and what will suit you can really help navigate the mammoth task.

Pear Shaped

For pear shaped ladies, A-line skirts are definitely a blessing. They skim the hips, making the bottom half appear smaller and also highlighting your waist at the same time. A tighter top will show off your bust by drawing attention to it, creating the look of curves and a strapless dress (or one with narrow spaghetti straps) will accentuate your shoulders, balancing them out with you hips and improving your proportions.

Apple Shaped

Women who are apple shaped will suit a low scooped neckline as this will draw attention to the larger bust. Detailing or folds on the stomach of a dress will make it appear smaller. A wrap dress will also make you appear as if you have a waist, drawing attention to this area while clinching it in at the same time. Dresses with an empire line also flatter as the fabric skims over the stomach.

Petite

Petite women suit a tailored look, with fitted garments creating lines and making you appear taller and more in proportion. It would be better for a petite lady to choose a dress specifically made to petite proportions to ensure that the dress sits right.

Hourglass

You want to wear something that will clinch you in at the waist, highlighting it and showing it off to its full effect as it's your narrowest point. A scooped or v neck will highlight your bust and a dress that skims over your hips will make them appear smaller while still showing off your curvaceous figure too. Detailing around the neck will also draw attention to the bust.

Athletic

Fitted tops and A-line skirts suit an athletic figure, giving the illusion of curves. The dress itself is less important with this figure, whereas accessories are extremely important in adding that desired look of femininity to an outfit.

In the end, it's really down to what you feel most comfortable in that matters but hopefully these pointers will help you to be able to get it right first time so you're not wasting hours and hours trawling around the shops trying on endless dresses which fail to flatter your figure.

Velvet Rucksack

tee: olive, skirt and boots: primark, belt and rucksack: vintage, rabbit pendant: dutty, sunglasses: h&m

Used my iPhone again for these pictures, I lugged my camera all the way to London this weekend only to find out that for some reason it didn't charge properly the night before! So annoying. I spent my weekend strolling around Camden and Brick Lane too so I had so many interesting things to take photos of! Of course I spent far too much money, I have another pair of Levis (they're pink, amazing!) and the coolest hat from the Rokit boutique. I also picked up some easy jeans and disco pants in black from the AA flea market (£34 each!) but I was so flustered in there I accidentally bought the disco pants in size XXS, they do fit but I'm not sure if they are too tight, hm.

This outfit is really casual and was perfect to pop on for a very long day of browsing the market stalls in the sunshine. I went to Olive in Cheltenham last week and bought this tee for just £10 (in blue here), I love Olive and always splash out when I go home as it's one of my favourite stores. The skirt was another bargain, I think it was £6 from Primark. It's such a nice fit- they have it in grey too so I may have to buy that as well...

I was having a nightmare taking these pictures as it was so windy and the last picture made me lol so I thought I'd share it with you :) ps. my roots need doing badlyyy.

Cosmic Sky

top & shoes: new look, skirt: missguided, jacket: topshop

I haven't blogged in what feels like foreverrrrr, I went to Outlook festival in Croatia which was AMAZING, it was a whirlwind of incredible DJs, insane stages, crazy boat parties, far too much drink, sunshine and tropical storms- rain, thunder, lightening... the lot! Since being back I've had an extreme case of festival blues anddddd I haven't had a proper laptop and no longer have photoshop (does any one use anything else to edit the pixel size of their pictures?) I'm using my old laptop at the moment but everything takes so much longer than normal, fingers crossed I'm getting a mac before uni starts again eeeeeee.

Last weekend I went camping in Sidmouth with my mum and sister, we had a really nice chilled weekend charity shopping, reading books, swimming in the sea and stargazing- I saw my first shooting star yayyy. I feel like I need to get back to reality now, uni starts soon and I have LOADS to sort out- started doing my room this week my yellow walls are now 'ivory cream' after 5 hours of painting and I can finally start to unpack my clothes and put them away properly, rather than using the floordrobe like I have been for the past month ha. I'm going to have a really big sort out and probably do a blog sale or eBay lots of the clothes that I never wear, so keep an eye out :)

My lovely intern bought me this skirt as a leaving present alongside the rosine skull stud tee. Best presents ever. I'm a little at a loss of what to do job wise now I've finished placement, although I'm going to be at uni I need a part-time job- don't really know where to begin... ah I've rambled on enough now, going to try and catch up on everyone's blogs asap and get back into a routine of regular blogging!

PS- These pictures were taken on my iPhone so sorry if the quality isn't great!

Krooked Camo

camo jacket: topshop, skirt & headband: h&m, boots: primark, top: vintage - the dandelion, bag: charity shop

Firstly, congratulations to Helen who won my Raspberrygrape giveaway- hope you like your body chain (so jealous); and thank you to every one who entered.

Waah camo jacket, hello. I know you can pick these up for super cheap, (Hayley got hers for £1 from a carboot sale, amazing) but I couldn't wait to find a bargain and bought this from Topshop£43.20 with student discount, I did resist the studded one though, which was identical but an extra £10 for a few studs...
I love the camo trend and although every person and their dogs (...yes dogs) are now wearing it I'm happily jumping on the bandwagon and embracing it fully, camowhore.

I'm in love with this bag, I picked it up at a charity shop in Monmouth over a year ago, it's Russell & Bromley and only cost a few pound! Unfortunately I've used it so much that it's dying now :(
Apparently I went for an extremely classy look here, battered bag, ripped tights and chipped nails... I've let myself go aha.

This is my last post for a while now, I finish my placement tomorrow meaning I'm laptopless until further notice and am off on holiday Monday- Venice and then Croatia for Outlook festival!!!!!!!!
I'm literally too excited for words, Phaeleh on a boat... in Croatia... ahhhhhhhhhhh.
I'll be back soon :)

Golden Flicker

top: charity shop, disco shorts: glamorous, headband: h&m, jewellery: miss selfridge

I couldn't resist buying the pewter disco shorts from Glamorous the other week, at under half the price of the ones form AA how can you say no?-  as far as dupes go I think these are look really similar in look and fit (yes these show off your entire bum too!!), the main difference I noticed was in the material, these are a lot silkier and less stiff. Personally I think they are a great dupe and the value for money is great- especially with 20% off (GLAMOROUS20). I'm a little too scared to wear them without tights at the moment in this country but I'm off to Croatia next week and think it's definitely going to be acceptable to wear them tight-free out there.

Apologies for the over the top mix of gold and silver in this post, my top (charity shop find £3!!!) has both colours in so I thought I would embrace it for my whole outfit. Also, I'm wearing a headband for probably the first time ever! I decided it was time I started wearing them and even though I don't think they really suit me I am going to persevere until I like them on me...

Don't forget to enter my giveaway to win a Raspberrygrape item of your choice, it ends tomorrow at midnight- you can enter here.

Back Homee

I've noticed recently that lots of the girls from home have blogs and I thought I'd share them with you :) I love reading my friends blogs, when you know someone in person you can imagine the tone etc that they're writing in. Of course my opinion on them would be biased sooo I thought I'd let them to sum up their blogs for you- they're all so different and definitely worth checking out.

Emma from What's Up Buttercup? says:
I blog about my life and things I love. It's great to be a part of an online community and also track memories online so I have something to look back on. Getting the occasional freebie makes it worthwhile :)

Jess from Hello Savage says:
I blog at work so Hello Savage is my personal space to speak about what I want- my little online home, where I keep all the things I find on my journey around the internet.

Lucie from L is for Lucie says:
I think too much; so I use my blog as a platform to express my opinions on many different topics from current affairs, religion, science and politics, to celebrity culture and fashion. It's basically a way for me to let out my rantings in order to spare my friends and family from having to humour me!

Jess from Big Girls Blouse says:
I want to create a beautiful world full of all that i feel, think, learn and love.

August's Most Wanted

It's been a while since I've done one of these mainly because I try not to spend too much time browsing online stores as it results on my bank balance diving deeper and deeper into the red... but with Outlook coming up I decided to spend some time last night looking for holiday clothes. Instead I ended up with this. (Note this is why making wishlists is so dangerous, now I want double the amount of clothes I originally wanted!!) None of these items are very holiday'y at all and in truth I couldn't find anything summery I really liked, I couldn't even find a bikini to tick all the right boxes- I think I'm going to have to pop into town some time soon to get my holiday bits.

So here's a few items I definitely do not need but really really want:

I love everything BlackMilk and although this carries a pretty expensive price tag it's a spaceman on a swimsuit... need I say more? This is one of the items I'm telling myself not to buy as it's such a statement piece I doubt I'd get that much wear out of it, however their swimsuit range is amazing and I'm on the lookout for cheap dupes, let me know if you know of any!

2. Mia Twisted Rainbow Stacking Rings - Dixi - £6
These rings are part of the new store update over at Dixi and, they're so simple but the colours in them give them a really interesting edge.

3. Crosses Collar Tips - Topshop - £8.50
I saw this on a instagram the other day and then stumbled across it on the Topsop site, meant to be? I love cross jewellery and this is really different, it's amazing.

4. Rebel At Heart Sterling Silver Bracelet - Thomas Sabo - £119
I'm not one for expensive jewellery at all- the most expensive item I own would have definitely cost less than a £10er. However, the other day I was browsing the Thomas Sabo site and found this, it's really different to the other silver bracelets on there and much more my style. I would never fork out £119 for a bracelet for myself but thought I'd share it with you as I think it's really quirky and unique.

5. Ombre Pink Shirt - Topshop
They've actually taken this off the site since yesterday(?!) but I like it so much that I thought I'd still share it with you, pink's not usually a colour I go for but this has totally won me over. It would look perfect with a pair of levis, some studded boots and a spiked headband- they have a similar design here for £45.

6. Beneath My Bones Silver Bracelet - Dixi - £7
How good is Dixi's store update?! So good. I need this bracelet, any jewellery with skulls, skeletons or bones incorporated is an immediate must have. I also love the gold version, on the site the model's wearing them both together and I think it's made me want both so I can do the same! Uh ohh.

7. Black Disco Shorts - Glamorous - £22.99 (18.39 with discount code GLAMOROUS20)
I really had to stop myself from buying a pair of AA disco shorts and I am so glad I did because these are so much cheaper! I've seen good reviews about the Glamorous disco dupes so far and these are going in my basket this evening. But I'm stuck on whether to get black or pewter?! Helpppp.

8. Boston Set of 2 Cuff Braclets - Dixi - £12
I've been looking for a silver cuff everywhere and Dixi now do a set of 2 for £12- fantastic.

These boots are shoe heaven, I need to have them in my life - platform Chelsea boots look perfect with any outfit and can be worn casually and on nights out. Some one buy me them pleaseeeeee? :)

Wildest Moments

tee: friends, shorts: diy, jacket: charity shop, pendant: dutty, boots: primark

Guilty of wearing these shorts again, when I find something that's been missing for ages I wonder how I ever lived without it... can't take them off now! I'm also wearing my friends tee here which she definitely doesn't know about until now so sorry Carla!! I love oversized tee's and I'm not sure where she got this from but it's perfect to throw on to keep a look casual.

I'm moving out of my house on Saturday which is going to be ridiculously stressful, ahh so much cleaning and packing- I have no idea how I've accumulated so much stuff over the year... I keep putting it off and doing little bits but there's no excuses now- tonight I'm going to blast some Skrillex, pretend I'm back at Global Gathering and cleaannnnn. As soon as my friend puts the pictures up I shall do a festivally post and tell you all about it :)

Talking of festivals, Stephanie from Stephanie Dreams went along to Camp Bestival as a sponsored blogger this weekend, she's taken some lovely pictures it looks like the cutest festival ever- check out her post here.

PS - you have to all go and listen to Jessie Ware - Wildest Moments if you haven't already. Loveeeeee.

The Journey

top: motel, shorts: diy, boots: primark, shirt: charity shop, bracelet: c/o dixi, above knuckle and silver ring: dixi, rose ring: sisters

Wow isn't this weather amazing?! Very different from when I took these pictures last weekend. Honestly feel like I'm in a foreign country right now and it's making me extremely happy- time to change from skin tone 'fluorescent white' to 'extremely pale with freckles'- I do tan eventually (believe it or not) but because I start off such an unnatural colour you can't tell unless I whip my tan lines out aha.

I was told I look very 80's in this outfit, picked up this top from the Motel boutique in Bristol for just £7! Bargain. Motel have lots of retro prints in at the moment I'm such a fan. I've been looking for these shorts for ages, me and my nan made them last year quite easily, just grabbed a pair of leggings from Primark and chopped them off at the right length, bought some lace and stitched it on. I had completely given up of finding them- but, they were hiding under my chest of drawers, yayy.

(Apologies for the empty cans etc in the background- classy)

Summer Ball

dress: c/o glamorous, shoes: guess, jewellery: miss selfridge

Last Thursday was our summer ball at work for all the new and old interns, the night consisted of a lot of free wine, presentations about our year, some of the cringiest awards possible (yes I received one of these!!) and fire dancers for entertainment. I wore my gorgeous dress from Glamorous, I love the cut out sides, how the skirt is different from the top and of course the fish tail... one of the best things was that no one had the same dress as me as I didn't pick it up from the high street. I know I've said it before but I'm so impressed with Glamorous this dress retails at just £38.99, it' still in stock on the site too alongside an amazing sequin design one. I also noticed the other week that they have a section in BS8 in Bristol, so if you feel the need to try before you buy- head there! My jewellery was also a bargain I got all three items for just £7, love the sales.

Stained Glass

top & belt: emilys, levis: motel, hi-tops: nike factory store, socks: primark

These pictures are taken in my Bristol house, yes there are stained glass windows all about the place- amazing. I really don't like these pictures though as my legs are out in their true paleness; buttt I had to show you the top my friend Emily made and let me borrow to wear to motion the other night- I don't normally wear pink but this top is definitely the exception. She's been dip dye'ing, tie dying and diy'ing all sorts at the moment and if you want anything like this made for you she's a pro so send me an email and I'll put you in contact with her :)

Cats Eyes

dress: ebay, shoes: newlook, belt: vintage, claw ring: dixi, fish necklace: c/o amy from the little magpie

Bought this dress from ebay over a year ago and found it at the bottom of my wardrobe so I wore it to Emma's 21st the other weekend - a mexican themed night with lots of moustaches, tequila and drunk gringos. The dress has little black cats printed on it with red eyes - creepy. Wore this cute fish necklace with it that Amy sent me as a little surprise when she sent me her leggings (toomuchofababe!!

It's the summer ball tonight, I'm wearing a dress sent to me from Glamorous can't wait to take pictures tonight and show it off! Hope the weather stays dry for it too otherwise I am going to have some seriously patchy fake tan aha, not what any one wants. Work tomorrow is going to be awful, hate hungover Fridays- ah well it should hopefully be worth it!!

Old Blue

jumper: old blue, levis: charity shop, creepers: runway shoes, hare pendant: dutty, tights: primark

Ah stupid lighting is not doing this jumper justice at all, as you can't see clearly it's dip dyed lilac and pink andddddd it's studded. LOVEEEEE; I stumbled across it through the Old Blue tumblr where Lauren is selling a few of these jumpers in all different styles for just £25- it's definitely my favourite item in my wardrobe at the moment!!

Moved into my house in Bristol this weekend, it's amazing- it's got so much character, we found an old safe built into the wall would love to know what was kept in it, oh and I have the biggest room ever!! Yay. Only 4 weeks until I officially move in properly I cannot wait; I've missed living in Bristol so much this year.

PS all of you buying the disco pants dupes from Ark Clothing and Glamorous and the disco shorts from Topshop I am so jealous... money tree pleaseeeeeee!!

Deer Hunter

tee: sobeys vintage at bs8, riding pants: american apparel, creepers: runway shoes, necklace: street princess

Officially the busiest week of my life, my replacement has started which means I've been spending my days training her to do my job- I never realised how much I do! I'm also unofficially moving into my house in Bristol this weekend, the tenancy starts tomorrow so after work on Friday I'm going down to move half of my stuff and obviously get drunk, soo excited- it's Hospitality at Motion and even though I saw most of the DJs at beach break I'm not one to turn down Camo and Krooked... ever.

Some of you may have seen on my instagram (yasminnjade) that I popped into Bristol the other week for a spot of retail therapy where I picked up this tee from BS8. BS8 is my fav shop in Bristol it's on Park Street so it's a bit of a walk but definitely worth it. It's split into different sections for all different brands and combines a mixture of vintage, retro and high street clothing mixed in with some amazing jewellery and quirky household items.

I've been meaning to take pictures of my riding pants for ages- I picked them up in the 40% off all winter lines sale on the American Apparel site so they were cheap as chips and I love them, so glad I went for the green too. Also I bought this necklace from Naheeda's jewellery range so long ago and haven't had a chance to blog about it, it's so cute and really similar to one I had before which my friend borrowed and lost aha, but it's OK as I totally destroyed her HH suspender tights on a night out so we're even!! Check out Naheeda's store- Street Princess for more gorgeous pieces of jewellery.

So Glamorous

shirt: c/o glamorous, boots: topshop, belt: vintage, necklace: primark

Ah the lighting in these pictures is not great- did not see that cheeky bit of sun shining on my head! I wore this outfit to a friends 21st the other weekend, it was a house party which of course got fairly crazy everyone got far too drunk and no one slept till gone 6am... but it was such a good night even if the day after wasn't!!
I received this shirt from Glamorous a few a weeks ago and had been dying to wear it - it was sold out in a size 8 so I bought the 10 which means it's really oversized but I wanted a shirt I could wear as a dress (almost), believe it or not I am wearing shorts under it so I didn't go out too naked. I never usually pick things in this colour as it washes me out but hey it's summer and I'm determined to embrace the pastel trend regardless!! I really love the clothes on the Glamorous site everything is so reasonably priced, their store is continuously getting updated and they have clothes for literally every occasion.
Ohh, I picked up these boots in the Topshop sale in Bristol last weekend when I was indulging in some serious retail therapy to cheer me up; they were down from £60 something to like £40 and are so cute, they have a little chunky heel and are cut out at the sides- I'll take a better picture of them next time to show them off better :)

Only Love

t-shirt: primark (diy), denim jacket: charity shop, leggings: primark (c/o Amy), creepers: runway shoes brooch: vintage, casio: asos

Oh hey weird orb light on my head and hello I'm wearing patterned leggings again, I'm obsessed! A while back I was banging on about how I really wanted some snakeskin leggings and the AMAZING Amy from The Little Magpie said she had a pair she no longer wanted and sent them to me!! She's such a babe, the leggings came with a couple of bits of jewellery and such a lovely note :) Amy I cannot thank you enough, I love them... thank you thank you thank you!!

I had such an amazing weekend at Beach Break (I might put some snaps up depending on the quality) and although there were severe weather warnings it did clear up for the evenings and Sunday was so hot I got burnt! Highlights had to be Dizzee Rascal (surprisingly), Delilah, Ben Howard and of course Camo & Krooked. I'm so excited for Global Gathering now- I have festival fever. However I am absolutely exhausted and have lost my voice aha, bed time.

American Boy

blouse: missguided, leggings: lavish alice, creepers: runway shoes, bracelet: c/o dixi, pendant: charity shop

Firstly these leggings are the most extravagant item of clothing I own, I bought them from Lavish Alice a while back for just £12 but have been far too scared to wear them aha. I think you need to be careful what you wear on the the top half when wearing statement leggings especially those as 'out there' as these, and I didn't have anything to go with them. But then I found this blouse from Missguided and thought it would be perfect, I'd been looking for a black blouse for so long as they're so versatile and had't been able to find one so was really happy when I found this. Also you may have noticed I bought creepers!!! (only cheap ones as I cannot be trusted with any form of footwear) and I love love love them, I lived in them all weekend and now have ridiculous blisters :( but totally worth it.

Anyway, I wore this on Friday night where I went to see Scratch Perverts with Chloe & Katharine (pop over to Katharine's blog to see a picture of all three of us on the night!!) which was soo much fun and ended up with me rolling in at 5am with lots of chicken (classy) after the after party. Although I was ridiculously hungover the next day I refused to stay in bed and went into London to this comedy club night which was actually really funny, I then met my friends who were doing a monopoly bar crawl and one thing led to another... and that thing led to Fabric. So I spent Sunday very hungover too aha.

Red, White & Blue

denim jacket & dress: charity shop, shoes: new look, rings: dixi, pendant: peaches and nothing

This is as patriotic I got for the Jubilee this weekend I am afraid; bought this dress from a charity shop and it came down to my ankles so I snipped off the bottom and wore this to my friends surprise 21st in Cheltenham. I went out riding with my cousin on the Saturday extremely hungover and then drove to Bristol ready for Love Saves The Day. Although it absolutely poured I had the best day raving in the rain to the likes of Joker and Joy Orbison, it really got me excited for the festivals I have coming up this summer- can't believe beach break is only 8 days away!!

Tuesday I spent the day in Bath and got treated to lunch at Browns which was amazing, then yesterday I went to Thorpe Park (it stayed dry hurrah!!) which was just too good! It's been years since I've gone there and I absolutely loved 'stealth' the ride that goes from 0-80mph in less than 2 minutes straight up and then drops- couldn't get enough!! Finally I topped off my lovely super long weekend with a Wagamamas last night; work was horrible today think I'm getting ill uh oh- off to see Scratch Perverts with Chloe and Katharine tomorrow, I need to feel better quickkkkkk.

I'm entering this into Style Eyes Ethical Outfit Competition; the prizes up for grabs are amazing. My jacket and dress are both from charity shops andddd I'm wearing my nans socks, that counts as vintage right? Aha.

PS- watched The Other Boleyn Girl this weekend and loved it, if you haven't already... watch it!

An Eye For An Eye

I have an exciting post for you all today, I finally get to introduce you to An Eye For An Eye Clothing. A while back my nan introduced me to her cousins son who was starting up his own brand and asked if I'd help out. I nabbed a couple of the tees (which I absolutely love, tie dye and a quirky print- win) to photograph a while back and I've been itching to show you, but had to wait until the website was up and running etc.

The brand has a range of items, from tie dye tees to sweats and varsity jackets all at reasonable prices too- you can pick up one of these tees for just £15. At the moment they're just selling guys clothes (but when has that ever stopped us girls? aha) but they are bringing out a girls range in the near future so keep your eyes peeled. As well as the website you can buy An Eye For An Eye clothes at the Dandelion in Gloucester and as from this weekend an Eye For An Eye will have their very own stall at St Nicholas market in Bristol every Saturday from 9.30-5. I'm not sure I can make it this weekend but I'll definitely be helping out at the stall in the future so pop by and say hello if you're in the area :) oh go ahead and like them on Facebook for updates too!

Lock and Key

skirt: yayer, tee: diy primark, shoes: new look, friendship bracelet: c/o raspberry grape, claw ring: dixi, nails: models own fluro' orange

I'm finally starting to wear some of the clothe's I've DIYed over the last couple of months, I went on a bit of a spending and making spree and then had all these new clothes and realised I hadn't worn any of them. One of my creations was this tee from primark, it's a large mens one and I just added some bronze studs around the collar to spice it up a little. I love wearing really simple things on nights out especially when I'm wearing a skirt this bright aha.

You might be wondering about my necklace, I went to a 'let the lock... see the key' themed night out the other week; the girls got a padlock on a chain and the guys had a key. The idea was to find the key which fit your lock- take that as you will ;) I didn't find my match buttt it does mean that I now have a new necklace... not sure how socially acceptable it is to wear it though?!

Naughts and Crosses

top: ark clothing, cross leggings: dixi, jacket: obey, boots: primark, pendant: charity shop

I am too in love with my cross leggings from Dixi, I like how the crosses aren't white so they aren't as in your face as some of the other cross leggings that are around at the moment. Patterned leggings are the best thing this season; whoever thought up this trend- thank you!

I wore this to rave on avon in stokes croft last weekend which was so much fun, we were drunk and dancing outside by 6pm, I love Bristol in the summer. Last night we went to run at motion which was amazing as per, super quick post as I am very hungover and about to watch a film with an Indian on its way to me... yummmmm.

Working Girl

trousers: zara, shirt: topshop, shoes: primark

I am officially the worst blogger in the world! I have had such a manic past couple of weeks and I just haven't had the time to blog- I have been taking outfit posts and doing things blog related though so do not fear!

How nice is this weather? I'm actually loving it. It's been a week filled with working from home, fruit cider and BBQs. Oh, I have a new puppy too- Cameron (check him out on insta @yasminnjade) he is the most adorable thing ever!!

Today's post is a little different to the usual, my friend is on placement at a company in Bristol and he's in charge of writing their blog. He has to do a 'fashion in the work place' post and asked me to take some snaps of what I wear to work for him to feature. So the other morning when I was waiting for the boys to get ready for work I grabbed a housemate and got him to take these. This is pretty standard for what I wear to work, at half 7 the best effort I can make is finding a pair of trousers and a top then run out of the door!

Half day tomorrow, amazinggg; hope you all have an amazing weekend in the sun :)

Humming Bird

dress: urban outfitters renewal, bracelet: c/o dixi (close up here), shoes: gift

Saturday night I went to my friends 21st, she had a marquee in her garden and a live band it was so much fun, what started out as a lovely respectable evening soon turned into a very large, very drunk game of 'I have never...' we found out all sorts of things aha. I wore this dress that I bought from the renewal section in Urban Outfitters around October; I've realised that I own so many clothes that I haven't worn yet, had a bit of a spending splurge recently! I love that the back of this dress is mesh, although it did mean that I went out braless and yes... I did stick plasters on my nipples, haaa.

Just got back from Frankie and Benny's and the cinema with the girls from work, we watched American Pie and it was SO good. I'd heard mixed reviews but we were all laughing out loud the whole way through- I'd definitely recommend it.

In other news I was contacted by Glamorous yesterday, they are offering free delivery until the end of May and 20% off if you enter 'Glamorous20' into the checkout. If you're like me and have been hiding under a rock or in a hole and haven't heard of Glamorous you are seriously missing out- they have all the latest trends in store and the items are so cheap... I love finding a new store where I can spend all of my hard earned pennies, especially at these prices!!

Hamsa Hand

The lovely ladies at Dixi sent me this gorgeous Hamsa Hand bracelet to feature on my blog along side their huge store update of 200+ items. I thought I'd leave it to today to post so that I can tell you that they are adding even more items to the store tomorrow! So excited, I love all of their new items and have spent a few pennies on a pair of their amazing cross leggings and a cheeky bit of jewellery. Keep an eye on @shopdixi on twitter as they've been giving out the odd free shipping codes this past week :) don't forget that if you buy anything on the Dixi site and enter OVERLYMEETSDIXI you can get 10% off your order! Amazing.

Donnie Darko

shirt & trousers: charity shop, brogues: primark, earring: topshop, pendant: dutty

First of all I'd like to thank all of you all for wishing me luck with the 3 peaks; it was probably one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, nothing can really prepare you for how exhausted you're going to be and how much your muscles will ache! The day after I felt like I'd been run over by a bus aha, I definitely underestimated the challenge and completely forgot that walking up a mountain is less of a walk and more of a scramble/ climb. The paths were so steep, we climbed over boulder fields, walked alongside sheer drops and in a foot of snow... so many things went wrong in regards to timings and injuries (I now have a cankle!!) and our group got lost walking down one mountain in the pitch black at 2am. All of that being said it was definitely one of the best experiences of my life, I would 100% do it again and plan to within the next couple of years. In total I raised £631 for the Princes Trust and as a team we raised over £15,000.

Now onto the outfit, I wore this a few weekends ago at home- excuse the dodgy lighting in these pictures and the fact my label is quite clearly on show (so annoying). I picked up this shirt a few weeks ago in a charity shop in Reading and it's turned into my 'go-to' shirt whenever I'm stuck on what to wear as you can style it in quite a few different ways and it goes with everything. But the thing I'm most excited about is my rabbit pendant (which you may have seen on my insta). I absolutely LOVE it! I saw it in Dutty in Bristol a few months back when I had no money and actually couldn't stop thinking about it, so last time I was there I popped in and thankfully they had it in stock. I had spent loads of time on eBay trying to find a rabbit or hare pendant similar but they were all cute bunny rabbits- someone mentioned that it looks like the rabbit from Donnie Darko and that's what I love about it, that it's not 'pretty' and I haven't seen anything else like it. Definitely going to be on my list of favourite jewellery for a very long time. Dutty have got quite a big selection of their items on their website now, but their amazing pendants/ necklaces and masses of vintage clothes are only currently available in their boutique store on Cheltenham road- it's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Dixi Store Update

The Dixi store update is finally upon us, so exciting. If you follow Dixi on twitter (@shopdixi) then you'll have been hearing about this update for some time and have probably been itching to see what new items they have for us to spend our pennies on; from these pictures I can tell I am not going to be disappointed. This is a scheduled post as I'm currently up a mountain doing the 3 peaks challenge (feels so scary writing that in advance, makes it all the more real ahhh), so I can't see the full update until tomorrow. I can't wait to get my hands on a few of their new items, from this sneak peak I'm feeling there will be lots items perfect to fashion my festival-filled summer.

Three Peaks

As promised here are my 3 peaks nails, went for a basic flag design for each country, they aren't brilliant- the welsh dragons kind of look like dogs and my right hand is pretty shoddy. But hopefully these cheer me up when I'm up a mountain in the middle of the night in the rain and the snow- weather forecast looks awful. Please try and avert your eyes from the 'keep calm and go beyond san' tee- freebie from a technical event I did a few weeks ago and definitely only suitable to wear in bed ha.Off to Scotland tomorrow morning - super long coach journey awaits me, then the 3 biggest mountains in the UK... in 24 hours. Still have NO idea why I'm doing this. Wish me luck x

Raspberry Grape

The lovely Lauren from Raspberry Grape sent me this friendship bracelet which is new to her collection on her online store. The pattern is so intricate and adding studs makes them quirky and adult friendly- I'm sure you'll all agree when I say that I secretly miss being able to wear friendship bracelets... not any more!

Lauren has some lovely items on sale in her shop alongside this bracelet, if you've been looking for one of the skull bracelets that are right on trend at the moment Raspberry Grape is the place to get it, alongside peace trinkets, crosses, fruit and even piglets!! (my personal fav) I think she puts a really unique twist on her jewellery, it's reasonably priced and better yet she offers free delivery to all buyers in the UK.

Zig Zag

barry m: blueberry icecream & berry icecream

Here's my nails from the weekend, I went for pastel colours to try and remind myself that summer is just around the corner despite the awful weather!!

Apologies for my lack of posting again this past week I've been busy at home with my sisters birthday and 3 Peaks training- it's come round so quickly, I start the climb of the first mountain on Sunday at 5am... I am literally sh*tting myself. I'm all prepared though and have lots of energising food (the girl in Tesco's must have thought I was a right fatty when all I bought was chocolate, sweets and flapjacks aha), and all my walking gear; most of which is borrowed, but I did buy myself my first fleece this weekend and... a headtorch, well cool ;)

On the plus side I've raised £465 so far which is amazing (you can still sponsor me if you like www.justgiving.com/yasmin-colley). I plan to do pretty 3 Peaks nails to cheer me up on the mountains and at the request of a friend 'you can do it, put your ass into it' is going on my iPod playlist to motivate me ha.

Lavish Spark

shirt: cow vintage, skirt: c/o Lavish Alice via Kristy's giveaway, boots: c/o Spartoo via Ceri's ethical outfit competition, amethyst pendant c/o Wired Jewellery via Vicky's giveaway

As you can tell I'm wearing lots of my lovely winnings in this post, I've had the best luck recently and got some amazing new items from some fab brands and lovely lades; just want to say thank you so much you've made me a seriously happy pup.

This gorgeous skirt was courtesy of Lavish Alice through Kristy's blog giveaway a while back. Lavish Alice is a brand which has really kicked off recently, I hadn't heard of it before Kristy's post but since then they seem to be everywhere. They're currently all over my twitter feed with a giveaway when they reach 4000 followers so go and like them :) (@lavishalice)- they have beautiful clothes and their items are really cheap- I bought some american flag leggings from them the other day and they are amazing, they're pretty out there but still amazing! Studded a black tee to wear with them so hopefully I'll get the chance this weekend. Queue people in the street giving me funny looks aha...

My boots came from Spartoo; I won a £100 shoes voucher in the Style Eye's ethical outfit competition and these are one of the pairs of shoes I got. Unfortunately for me being a size 4 all of the pairs I liked were out of stock :( story of my life. But with my mum and sisters birthday on the horizon I bought them a pair of shoes each, mum a pair of Roxy flip flops because she likes to be all surfery in the summer and my sister the cutest pair of brouges which were way too girly for me but I'm sure she'll love. The range of shoes on the site is really good - literally had every type of shoe possible!

Finally you've all already seen my necklace from Wired Jewellery; it's just so pretty I love it and it's really spurred on a liking for amethyst/ crystal type jewellery now- I'm turning into Vicky

Friday is dedicated to catching up on all your lovely blogs, well that and laser tag for my sisters birthday!! I'm like a big kid. PS word on the street is that KatyAmy and Leigh are going to be doing PJ naked posts soon, so keep an eye out for those ;) PPS these pictures were took at my mum's friends house, what a front door - not only do they have puppies and horses... they live here!!
